Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/d)
In 2019, we will assemble our in-house team of Software Engineers from scratch. Be the first back-end expert, work in close collaboration with our external IT team and support us in finding new colleagues who bring the right attitude and skill-set to achieve our missions. You will have the opportunity to create the best fitting processes and workflows and to create the future vision of our architectural concept.
Tasks
- Analyze and optimize our existing platform and build new services on top
- Ensure a high code quality, lead technical debates and guide architectural decisions within our external and future in-house software development team
- Create our technical vision as part of our agile IT team (together with Front-end, Product, QA, DevOps) and successfully communicate all concepts and decisions
- Define processes, workflows and coding standards and live agile methodologies
- Develop innovative and scaling solutions based on business challenges
- Bring new ideas and concepts in order to be technically up to date in the long term and to share knowledge within the company

Profile
- Several years of relevant experience including hands-on development, software architecture and team guidance
- Eager for knowledge and trends and able to coach team members and share your knowledge within the company
- Drive changes and motivate people to get involved in our missions
- In-depth knowledge in Java and ideally other programming languages
- Strong with database technologies like Oracle and PostGreSQL, experience in migrating databases would be a plus
- Proven experience with scalable API platform services, ideally RESTful APIs and SOAP
- Experience running complex software solutions on cloud service (AWS)
- Orchestration tools like Docker are nothing new to you
- Fluent English
